Corporate Lunches!

Trying to get all these things in my coaching plan done.  I go into the tracker and post my stats daily.  The corporate-business lunches are making me step out of my zone, but, they are getting done.  On Wednesday, I attended a corporate luncheon at our local minor league baseball park.  It seemed odd to go into the ballpark without my family and without casual clothes on.  The event was held in one of the ballpark suites, which overlook the playing field.  Workers were busy out there, readying the field for the night's game.  The president of the league spoke and thanked us for our participation and support.  One of the sponsor's offered a few door prizes.  Would you believe gas cards?  They were an insurance company.  At my table sat, three people who represented The Pack Rat Storage Company, three employees of the Aetna Insurance Company and a man who worked for the American Red Cross.  So, there you have it, vendors and community service, right at my table.  Isn't it amazing that you can go to an event, pick one table out of eight, and have people who could be part of your sphere, sitting at the same table as you.  We all thought it was pretty cool.

I met some good people at this event.  I know there are more to meet, so, I will be sure to enthusiastically, seek businesses out.  Hope this helps you try something new to grow your business!

Here is a photo of Tom Kelly (retired manager) and I:)  He was excited about being posted on my blog:) STAY POSTED FOR MY COUNTY CLIENT EVENT IN AUGUST!

Vacation in Your Backyard ~ Good for the Budget!

As gas prices rise, more people will be looking at their backyard for vacation and relaxation.  It is convenient and of course, here in New England, our summer seems to go buy at triple speed.  Instead of spending time driving or waiting at the airports, you gain relaxation time by just walking out your backyard.  The ideas and systems that they now offer for creating outdoor living spaces are wonderful.  Garden areas. waterfalls, boulder walls, outdoor kitchens with stainless appliances, all make the task seem worth it.  Even the pools can be built into the landscape.  The gunite pools offer custom designs.  The boulder walls offer privacy and make you feel like you are at a resort.

Here's the bonus.  You know where your children are.  You know the water is clean.  You know who is going into your pool.  The budget for these types of projects can be controlled because you can add more to the project every year.  Instead of one or two weeks of fun and sun, you have now created vacation/relaxation zone, right in your backyard.  Investing your vacation dollars into your own real estate.

Super 8 MeMe! Jeepers!

Thanks to Eleanor Thorne from Cary, North Carolina, for asking me to share more about me:)  She suggested I could use it to find some good recruits for my office.  I love that idea:)  We are growing this year!  Amazingly, I have been to Cary, North Carolina. I have a cousin who lived there a few years ago, that we visited while looking at colleges for my Daughters.  Lovely town, with scenery much like Connecticut.

Here we go with the latest super 8 questions!

1) Who is your favorite musical artist?  That would be Elvis. His voice was so beautiful.

2) Who is your favorite artist? My Son, Daren.  He is now thirty years old:)  He would draw trucks when he was little with every last detail.  He would draw houses (we used to build them) the same way, with every attention to detail, including the outdoor landscape.  It was hard to believe a child drew them.  Now, he owns a landscape design/construction business in South Windsor, Ct, Birch Mountain Earthworks,LLC.  This year he added, equipment rental, Arnold's Rentals, LLC.  If you have a few minutes, take a look at his websites, www.BirchMountainEarthworks.com  and www.ArnoldsRentals.com   He is amazing!

3) Who is your favorite blogger?  My favorite is more than one.  I am grateful to those who helped me with my technical issues and to those who have become part of my sphere. The tips about online marketing are super.  I like to read Brian Buffini's Blog because he always seems to give out just what I need on that day:)

4) If you could meet anyone (alive or dead) who would it be and what is the most interesting thing about them?  I would like to meet Oprah.  I like how she makes her audience and viewers feel like she is  your neighbor, right next door.  She really cares about people.

5) What did you want to be when you grew up?  A teacher.  Though my path went a different way, I was a telephone operator, a waitress through college, sold appliance warrantees, a receptionist for the Ct Dept of Education, Ct State Attorney aide, an engineering aid at P&WA, where I met my husband, then a Mom, a builder and then, a Realtor.  I have taught CCD class, cooking classes (junior high)  and now Mentor my agents.  The Mom job is still the best!

6) What is the most interesting piece of trivia that you know?  When you smile, your face uses less muscles than when you frown:)

7) If you could live in any point of history, when would it be and why?  I am happy to be right where I am:)

8) What is the most interesting job you have held?  The one I have now.  I meet different people from all over the world.  I am teaching and mentoring my agents.  Our business is changing more everyday, which I believe, makes it more challenging and interesting.

Okay, my turn....here are my next super 8 MeMe's:

       Nancy Pav

       Al Donohue

      Dennis Volz

    Carol Mc Donald

Are You Afraid Your Home Will Sell?

In this market, the title of this blog may seem odd to most readers. Here is the scenario that will help explain the question, are you afraid your home will sell?  These particular sellers, and there are a few of these every month now, are not sure that they will find their next home.  They want to go out and look at what is on the market to see if anything appeals to them.  That's fine, I would do the same.  Getting your home on the market quickly, will help you to know how much you will really have in hand, to purchase that next home.  It's the right way to go.

The sellers that have their home under deposit are buyers, just with a condition of a closed transaction occuring first.  When something really good comes on the market, it is gone in a few weeks.  If you have a home to sell, that isn't listed, that isn't under contract, you will not have a good chance at purchasing the new home that you just fell in love with.  There may be more homes on the market, however, the best ones still move to deposit quickly.  There are less buyers, but, the buyers are now focused and prepared to find their new home and act quickly when they do.

Certainly, you could have a phrase in your listing remarks that would state the condition of, finding your next home before closing.  It would be fair to the buyers, as well as you, the seller.  Don't miss out on your "dream chance for a new home."  List your home now.  Call us today!
