Gov. M. Jodi Rell Issues Thanksgiving Proclamation

Now is the time that we, as Americans, surround ourselves with family, friends and those we care most deeply about, and for many of us, it is a time to give thanks to God for the blessings bestowed upon us throughout the year.  We, the people of Connecticut, are privileged to live in a nation where we are free to gather together to celebrate all of the gifts which we have been given, both great and small.

Yet, with all that we have to be thankful for, it is easy to forget and take for granted the fortunate lives we live.  This harvest time of year is an opportunity to give thanks and to rejoice in the love, opportunities and freedoms we enjoy.  It is a time to honor the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country, and we must thank them and their families for their sacrifices, especially those who have courageously given their lives while serving our Nation.

Thanksgiving each year is celebrated in the spirit of our forefathers, the early settlers of America, as they sat down to feast together and give thanks for their safe arrival and for surviving the first harsh winter in the New World.  As they gathered to give thanks, they invited their native neighbors to share their ample blessings.

It is at this time that we should come together as our colonial ancestors did in order to enjoy a plentiful harvest and extend our generosity to others.  In this tradition, we should give of ourselves to those who have been given little, offer our blessings to those whose blessings are not as plentiful, and open our hearts and homes to neighbors.  It is a time to gather with family and friends, neighbors and colleagues, to give thanks for all that we have and all that was given us.  It is my hope that all of Connecticut's citizens will give thanks as we celebrate today and throughout the year.

Therefore, in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut and in keeping with the traditions set forth by Governors of Connecticut since colonial times, I hereby proclaim November 26, 2009, to be a day of

PUBLIC THANKSGIVING.

I urge all our citizens to join me in expressing our deepest gratitude to those who touch our lives everyday and in extending a helping hand of hope to those who need it most.

Send a Thank You Card, to a Soldier

If you go to this web site, http://www.letssaythanks.com/   you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!!    It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these?    Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers over there need to know we are behind them.  I only found one that has Merry Christmas on it.  So, not just for the holidays!  It would be good to keep this site, saved on your computer, so that, you could send a card often.  I am sure that all cards are appreciated, not just the holiday ones.

This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you.    Please take the time and please take the time to pass it on for others to do.  We can never say enough thank you enough.

Thanks for taking to time to support those who are willing to sacrifice themselves!

It's a Good Life!

Expense Tracking Tool

 Access from almost, any device.

With this system, you don't have to worry about receipts getting lost!  http://xpenser.com/

How fast the end of the year is approaching.  With all of the time that we need to take for the holidays, and I do believe that we must allow ourselves time with our loved ones and friends, this tool will cause you to have more free time.  You won't have to record your receipts, at a later time.  You can do so, right at the time that you are requiring them.  So, be it a client lunch, business meeting or supplies from SAM's Club, you can access Xpenser, input your information and you're done.  No forgetting expenses or missing the dates.  Check it out!

It's a Good Life,

Answering Questions on Trulia

Just wondering how many of you are active and participating on the Trulia site?  It offers an auto-feed from our Connecticut MLS.  I am assuming that it does so, with other MLS systems across the country.

Here's a question that I answered today.

There are so many details in our business, contracts, mls rules and regulations, that it can be confusing to the consumer.  Finding time to serve and help the consumers is, definitely, part of our scope of work.  What sites are you participating in?  Do you find them helpful to you, as well?

I am a Sprinting Machine!

Today, was a really good day!  Got up early, walked my dog.  The rain has stopped, here in Connecticut, for now.  The real estate work day, begins.

I started out early with my popbys packed up and a smile on my face.  I delivered a deposit check to a real estate office in another town.  On the way there, and on the way back, I sprinkled through my database of clients, friends and family.  I took one route outgoing and came back on the other side of the towns.  It worked out amazingly well.  The best part was, some of my stops were rewarded because the people were home.  A nice sunny day, perfect for raking leaves and setting up their decorations for the Halloween Holiday this Saturday!

My popbys were Halloween Popcorn.  It was welcomed by all:)  I stopped at eighteen homes today!

One stop, the Dad was mowing the lawn with his Daughter.  She had just come home from school, kindergarten.  Her Dad had made her some popcorn to snack on while they were on the tractor, mowing the lawn. So, they really liked my popby! The scent from the kitchen was wonderful.  Her Mom was making pumpkin cupcakes for a school party, tomorrow.  Yummy!  This was a young couple that asked me to sell their first home, in East Hartford, and then, to find them a ranch in Bolton, Ct.  At the time, I laughed and said well, we shall see.  Obviously, these clients had such faith in my abilities, that it came true.  I found the one ranch on the market, in Bolton.  We bought it and they have really dressed it up nicely over the years.  The location is perfect and they will enjoy many years of happy memories there.  It just makes you smile, every time you visit these lovely people.

So, yes, the Buffini Sprint is happening in Connecticut.  I am staying on course and completing my daily tasks.  Enjoying every single minute of it, too!
